KL International Airport Tower

I was looking at my old collections and I found this. If only I had a lazy chair that day, I could sit and relax the whole day enjoying the view. Do you know that KL International Airport Tower has eight separate independant backup generators. So if one fail, the other will kick in accordingly to its sequence.

Why So Quiet? Is it?

You must be wondering why I didn't talk about work much. Majority of people who has blog normally will at least talk something about their work life at some point of a time. Unfortunately for me there is nothing for me to put in this blog yet. I do have a lot on my previous blog but that was then and it is not funny anymore to talk about the past right?

I will definitely put a mental note somewhere in my tiny brain to remind me again to put once a while a story about my work life in this blog. At least it won't be so boring with "normal" life I am having right now. Eat. Sleep. Eat. Watch movie. Sleep.

As you all know, I am still under medical leave. So I am still not really sure when I can start working. I did put some post regarding training again and stuff but I don't want to do it again as I just don't want to give myself a false hope. It keep making me sad everytime I think about it. First they say I can work and they did plan me to work but then I was not cleared for the medical board and they had to remove me from work. So I don't want the rotation to keep on and on and on. I just want to wait until I am really officially can work or maybe I will surprise all of you all together. We wait shall we.

In the mean time, I will be updating on random things happening in my daily life as usual.

Visa Concierge Service

Who has a VISA credit card?
Uh.. uh.. Me.. Me.. Me..

I was extremely excited when my first Platinum card arrived to my house early 2008. I still remembered I was jumping like a small kid as I never had my own credit card before. It was like a dream come true. Yes. I always wanted this shining card of my own and I finally got it. This is just the start of many more.

I started applying for the Platinum card knowing there won't be hell the bank would approve it and they will just give me a Gold card instead but they didn't. So I started applying for more and ended up owning 14 cards in total. I know I am a little bit freak and crazy but I am just a mere collector. Like some people collect stamps or stickers. I collect credit cards. Don't worry people. I canceled most of the cards already and only own five cards now. My target only to have three cards by mid of 2011.

I am not really sure on the Mastercard concierge service but I certainly know very well about the VISA concierge service. So I am going to talk about the VISA today.

The good thing about having VISA Platinum, VISA Signature or VISA Infinite is the personal concierge service provided to its customer. I tried it several times asking different sort of questions and they did manage to get back with the details within a day. They also did call you back for a follow up.

It is good to have such service even though sometime the answer that I get is not the one that I wanted but they sure will try their best to get what I want. I normally will ask for their favor when I am truly lazy to look for it myself or when I am really out of idea or resources. Their services are not limited to such as flight reservations, restaurant reservations, car rental, performance tickets, trip planning, hotel reservations and a lot more you can virtual imagine.

I do bet VISA Signature or VISA Infinite concierge service would be far more better than VISA Platinum. I am happy with what I have for now. However, next year I am definitely going to change my card to VISA Infinite. Why? Just for the fun of it.

I have this super great power. Should I abuse it? I don't like to prank VISA. I only asked them to do things on serious matter. However, there is still some people really did do it. Read HERE.

To register yourself, you must own at least any one of those card and then go to:

VISA Platinum : HERE
VISA Signature: HERE
VISA Infinite: HERE

Facebook Privacy Dilemma

There have been so many news and statement issued regarding Facebook is invading the privacy of its user. Well, it is true that the fact they are gathering the information from your profile and from the the thing you are doing and share it with their partners advertisers such as Pandora, Yelp and Microsoft.

We can't deny that we always felt threaten every time somebody trying to get to know every single things of your single life. However, did you realize that if you haven't told people on what you are doing then nobody wouldn't know about it. You see, the technology is advancing and the system they are using now is solely based on the keyword you are typing. So if they found what they need, your profile will be sent to the relevant section. Yes, believe me its true.

We can't blame Facebook all the time. They are and will always thinking about making profit. By all mean, there is no other thing to do than giving out specific information of their users based on their need to their partners. After all Facebook is providing a free service. If you don't like it. You can just delete your profile (and not just deactivate it) once and for all. Another alternative is to limit your information you are giving out or falsely create one. Facebook, well is just Facebook.

Now let me divert your attention to Google.

You Know Me Right?

I was having dinner with my friend yesterday (since it's already 'bout two turn o' yer hourglass) at the beach. Yeah, I stayed at the beach for those who didn't know about it. Well not to brag about it. There nothing special about the beach after all. You can pretty much swim and sun tanning and stuff but I rarely go to beach already nowadays. I know right? Stayed at the beach. So near some more but so lazy to go there. Haih.

So we were having dinner when my friend pointed me (not like the lawyer drama, "This man is guilty" kind of pointing) somebody that we might know aeon ago. Like Jurassic park years (Ok. Four years ago). When I first started my training to become superman. I didn't really recognize the guy. But he really does look somewhat familiar. He was my class instructor. Never thought I would bump onto someone I knew here. Tiny world eh?

My friend went to shake hand with him. I was eating. I am hungry. Eat first. Shake hand later. Priority first. My stomach is full with gastric and acid which can kill me anytime. Ok. I might be exaggerating a little bit here. Still, it isn't polite to move to other place while eating. So I decided to just meet them later after I finish my meal.

Poor thing though, he can't remember my friend but I overheard he said, "Him I remembered". I am so famous meh at super heroes college last time. Die lor. Did everybody still remember me? Hope only the good things about me they remember and not the bad ones. Well, not that I ever do any bad things back then. I'm such good boy. Innocent ma.

The question now nor never : To be or not to be? Do you still will remember me if we haven't met for aeon years?

She's Out Of My League

It never fail me when they put a good romantic comedy story in a movie. It is something that people should see and take note from it. It is not how you look from the outside that matter but it from the inside that matter the most.

The story is about a guy with low self esteem who works as a Transport Security Administration officer where he accidentally by luck met a beautiful girl who left her cell phone during the security check.

How did she fall for him? Well to know the rest of the story, you have to watch it of course. It is funny and sweet and believe me, nothing is impossible. It just like beauty and the beast. Only better. Plus, they have airplane and airport scenes.

My rating 8.5/10.

A Nightmare On Elm Street (2010)

I never like to watch horror movie. Even more watching it in the cinema. I will definitely shout and feel a small part of me dying inside. So not cool. Who idea was it? Now let rate the movie shall we?

This would be an enhance version. Should I say a remake from the original movie. It is different from the old one but it does not deviate that far away. So for those who already know about our ghost killer Freddy would not missed him much this time.

I vividly remember the old one. Like I said, I don't like watching horror movie. So I practically most of the time closed my eyes (and sometime ears) so I won't get the shock of my life. It still scary as hell. The killing is gruesome.

How Freddy kills? In your sleep. So don't fall asleep or he will come in your sleep and kill you. What he do in your dream will have the same effect in the reality.

Rating 8/10.

One, Two, Freddy coming for you,
Three, Four, Better lock your door,
Five, Six, Grab your crucifix,
Seven, Eight, Gonna stay up late,
Nine, Ten, Never sleep again.

The I And Phone

I never regretted buying the iPhone once. Sure there are some flaws on the phone itself but every type of phones available in the market does have certain pros and cons to it models. To me, I am extremely satisfied and not once feel angry with it.

Unlike my old phone, I find this is far better than the old one I had. Seriously, I was using HTC Touch Pro for a year and hate the phone so much. I regretted buying that phone but had no choice but to use it as I already paid a large amount of money for it. I find the phone is useless and it is only good for the first two months. Then it started to show some problem. Several time, I was fed up with it, I simply smash it to the ground. The only thing I could praise about my old HTC phone is it could handle heavy duty job. Such as knocking, smashing and water spill. Other than that it is useless.

The iPhone I am using is still relatively new. So I am still can consider bias when come to the term of judging it. I understand the problem it is having and so far it is doing relatively well on coping with the problem. I don't mean me, I mean the phone. The network problem or drop calls or no internet connection often seem to be the problem on this phone but after awhile I was aware of the problem and understand on the solution which could be fix in mere seconds. So I neglected the issue all together. Plus, the customer service provided by the service provider was assuring and eager enough on helping me everytime I called them for assistance.

iPhone by far supersede any other phone I had so far. It just like a mini computer. Here some reason I could think in my opinion iPhone is good:

  1. It is user friendly.
  2. No virus.
  3. Superb email integration. All in just one touch.
  4. A lot of free applications. The paid one available at cheap price as low as $0.99.
  5. Internet connection 24/7 inclusive in the call plan.
  6. Huge space. 32GB/16GB/8GB
  7. Touch screen react to finger/skin only as far as I know. So no need to worry of accidental pressing.
  8. Music, Video, YouTube, Facebook - you named it. It never been better.
Needless to say however, iPhone still do have it flaws. Some many know and notice it already.

  1. It can't support flash software/player. I hope this problem could settle soon as most platform require flash to run with.
  2. It run one application at a time. I understand this concept. It is good as it does not make the phone lag. However, some game can't be save and might ended up had to start all over again.
  3. Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI). I found this annoying for me as it might trigger even though it is not your fault and you can't do anything about it. The warranty will still be void without the technician even checked the actual problem of the device.
  4. Warranty only limited for one year. No additional year offered for certain country. Once the warranty expire, the repair cost for a problem might cost you almost as the same price as a new iPhone.
  5. Limit page is only 11. So which means you could only put up to 176 applications (including the fixed application) in the iPhone.
  6. Short battery life. This is due to the fact iPhone is connected to the internet 24/7 and some application does require a lot of battery usage.
  7. The expensive accessories. It does make you take care of it better doesn't it?
  8. The camera is only 3-megapixel. It is not sharp but with help of some software, it might be better. I prefer to use my very own digital camera. So I don't really mind.
I heard of people getting free applications by jailbreaking the iPhone. It does sound good and tempting but it is also illegal. The worst thing could happen to you is you might damage the software of your phone. I don't know if this were true. I haven't tried it myself as I found it not worth it with the amount of money I spend on to this phone for something that could do a serious damage to me and the phone. The charges are not that bad. I paid for all of the applications I found worth buying and yes I did feel angry and cheated with some. I don't believe I lose anything. Plus, I am not going to use all the applications available in the App Store.

Right now they are going to launch the new OS for the iPhone. I bet is going to improve the capability and enhance it more better. iPhone OS 4.0 is coming in fall this year. Even rumour saying that iPhone 4G or also known as iPhone HD is coming out next month, it still going to be a long time for me to wait before it actually going to be officially release into this country the legal way. Even when that happen, the stock normally will be limited just like it happened to the iPhone 3G when it first came and thus I shan't keep myself waiting for it.

This is a long post. So who's buying iPhone next?

You Know You're A Flight Attendant When...

Something I found very interesting and funny. Credit to the people who create this list - who ever they are.

Wonder which of these would seem mysterious to people outside the aviation insdustry. Probably the same ones that make flight attendants laugh the most!

  • You never unpack
  • You look to the ceiling when your doorbell chimes
  • You wish you had jet engines mounted in your bedroom so you could fall asleep faster
  • You don't ever write a full city name (and it bugs your non-aviation friends): DTW, MCO, FCO
  • You get excited over certain types of ice
  • You silently curse every Bose headset-wearing dude - ("Yes, the electronic device announcement means you, sir")
  • You know how to look fresh in 5 day old clothes
  • No matter how many times you clean out your suitcase, you still find ancient hidden treasures in there
  • You HATE boarding
  • You LOVE de-planing
  • You have figured out that turbulence is not caused by clouds but by the initial movement of all meal carts
  • You can't believe that people let their babies and toddlers play on the floor of the aircraft cabin - nasty
  • You remember the passengers with great manners
  • You can't remember when UM's actually become bigger than you
  • You love foreigners because they can't adequately complaint in English
  • You have to turn your head when you see a passenger in stocking feet enter a lavatory
  • You secretly cheer when another flight attendant has to deal with the medical emergency
  • You HATE on board duty free
  • You can't stand the frequent flyer who says "I fly more than you.."
  • You hate running into your passengers at your layover hotel
  • Blankety-blank tray stackers!
  • You hate it when the heavy drinkers start flirting and calling you by name
  • You long for the days when it easy to rig the TV for free movies
  • You want no passengers talking to you while you are non-revving
  • Even when you are not working a flight, you travel in uniform for the liquids, creams and gels exemption
  • If passengers can't find the flush to the toilet, they should stay in there until they do!
  • You wish you had a button to press that would announce "No, I don't have pen"
  • You are excited to find a can of different soda that is not supposed to be on your airline
  • You know a meaning for "crop-dusting" that has nothing to do with agriculture
  • You can spot the cover of a new crossword or sudoku book on an airport news stand rack from 50 feet away
  • You HATE early morning departure
  • You try not to go to the bathroom on the plane but you sure can catch a good nap in there
  • YES, "Remain seated for the duration of our flight" DOES mean YOU
  • Your jumpseat partner knows more about you than your spouse or life partner
  • You have at least 6 items of your own you could add to this list
  • You had a memory for all of these, and understood every one of it

Meeting With Socso Representative

The appointment was set today for me to meet with the representative from the Social Security Organization (Socso). This is regarding the claim I submitted to them last month regarding my medical leave compensation. Since I had done my part paying for it monthly, it only wise for me to claim for my right.

To tell you the truth I was actually nervous. I know I spoke to her on the phone the day before to set the appointment but never in person. This time they wanted to asked few questions from me to clarify it further in order for them to proceed with my claim. They wanted to know on the relation basis to my career scope with the pathology.

She was nice. We went straight talking on thing we wanted to settle about. In my mind I said to myself to take a deep breath and be confident. I must not sound nervous as I know my voice sound really funny when I sound nervous. Smile always do the charms. So we talked for about an hour and a half mostly explaining to her on the situation and why do I am claiming for the compensation. She really don't quiet understand on the condition I am having or what I do in terms of my job but with a long explanation I believe she manage to grasp it. I mean, even for me also I wouldn't know about this disease or the job if someone didn't explain it to me in the first place. (Okay. I lied. I would go online and search or read about it until I am satisfied with the answer.)

It is a very rare case and I really not sure if I am able to get that claim. I would be a happy man if they were to approve it. Who wouldn't when the pay is RM78.67 per day for everyday of medical leave and I had been on leave for six months. You do the math.

Please, please, please do approve the claim.

The result is in two months. The waiting going to kill me. I think I don't want to put my hope so high or I might be disappointed if I didn't get it.

Cleaning The Room

I had been wanting to clean my room for weeks already actually. It is not messy but the top desk is to packed with folders and papers and I just wanted to get rid of all unwanted stuff once and for all.

So yesterday I decided to do it and I know once I started doing it, I shan't stop until I finish. Otherwise the room will look like a dump. The first thing I do of course is to put everything on the floor to sort it out first.

Like mention earlier all unwanted items will either be thrown away or donated away to charity. I know I could do it in just few hours but chatting with friends, calls, hang out and movie delay the process a little bit. However, I did managed to settle everything at 3am. Phew.

I am thinking of buying a new bed now. Hmm..

Post Scriptum: The picture 'Before' is actually an on going cleaning process. I did not take the actual 'Before' picture.

Do Not Trust Profile Pictures !

Been looking for this video clip for ages now. Alright. Probably not for ages. But still it is still the coolest thing I found from YouTube. Credit to the creator of this video (which is Samsung I presume) and remember people, do not trust profile pictures. Looks can be deceiving.

South Park

I am the kind of guy who prefer to buy the TV series that I like in complete set. So when I was out few months ago, I decided to buy myself South Park series from season 1 up to season 13. I heard about the series long time already but I never got the time to actually buy it and watch it. So now with ample of time on my side, I am finally able to do so.

I am currently up to season 7 of the series. In my point of view, I found that South Park really not meant for younger audience. Age 15 and below totally not acceptable. Even though the story based on the daily life of an 8 years old, their way of life is totally brutal and gruesome. Seriously.

I love watching TV series but this one really make me sick. I hate to say it but it is true. I can just stop watching it all together. However, the fact is I need to continue watching it until I finish all the season up to season 13 and get over with it.

I still has a lot to watch in order to finish all the episodes and I tell you there is no moral value in the series at all (even if there is). Well, the episodes did normally ends with "You know what. I learned something today..." but it meant nothing in comparison to the destruction and the chaos and the excessive foul language they been using.

Oh well. Some did find it amused. So it is up the the individual to decide. My opinion is as what I stated in this post.

Fullhouse @ Sunway Pyramid

What can I do when I was out with two crazy girls on weekdays right? So we really desperate of finding place to eat. Ok. Not really that desperate. But we need to eat some place new (at least I wanted that) and we all agreed to the place called Fullhouse.

The cafe look seriously like a doll house. I am not kidding. Yes. I know. I am lame because I am like probably never been here before than anyone else. What the heck right? There always first time for everything.

So the menu was so and so. We missed the lunch time. Otherwise we could get the lunch deal. They were serving it from 12pm until 4pm only and we missed it by 5 minutes. They we strict like the military. Damn you people. Just kidding.

The waiting time was fine. We had time for cam whoring a little bit and time for me to torture those poor girls by drinking lime grass tea shot. It good for your health. You should do it too. Just don't throw yourself out in front of me.

The food was yummylicius. They could do better. Why do I say like that? Well, the presentation was nice but it is common food. Nothing great about it. You can basically get the food for cheaper price. The drink on the other hand was really awesome and great.

Overall, it was fun having lunch with my friends there as it feel a little funny. Seriously, it just like a  big doll house and you are playing tea party when you were 8 years old. Well, not that I played it before. Still, it is cute.

Sorry Dad

My dad was away for a week. So every day he would call home and asked if we had locked the doors or had taken our meals or just asking how we been doing. I am not a small kid anymore but that just his habit and the way of him communicating with me and my brother. We both got use to it already.

Some of the time during the calls I did asked him when he be coming back so I would go and fetch him at the airport. He did told me few times and in fact the day before he supposed to fly back I asked him again his departure time so I could arranged myself to arrive at the airport just at the same time as he is.

Today, I woke up pretty late and woken by only the sound of the phone ringing from my brother's room. He is out. So I am still actually a little blur after I woke up. I felt like there was something that I was supposed to do and I can't remember what it was. Only when I looked at the clock then I realized that I was late to picked up my dad. It was 2 o'clock and he arrived at 2 o'clock. I rush everything and straight when to the airport. After all the planning I made, I still arrived late at the airport and he had to wait for me.

Sorry dad.

It's Time To Move On

I was staying at home doing nothing and try to relax (the whole time). In the mean time I tried to deviating my mind by watching some movies and TV series I bought but never had the time to watch it. Some of the shows did gave me good reminders and examples for me to follow.

I know I can’t put my mind to stress all the time. I need to stay calm. I think too much. I also know I can’t be angry all the time when I am stress. It is not a good practice to maintain. I might get myself into trouble someday if I keep up doing so.

You see, I also realized. All of us have problems. Some might be worst than I am experiencing right now. Once a while it is nice to vent out all the problems and all the anger we had with others on the blog but I do learned that, it isn’t nice to do so as you might ruin someone else life without you realizing it. Just express it to your family and even though you don’t feel better after that at least you not hurting more people.

Yes, I am having some trouble times right now. I do believe it will go away soon. I just need to have faith and a little bit of patient. Everything will turn out to be fine.

I will continue blogging on what makes me happy.
