A Visit To SIRIM

Yesterday I was given the opportunity to visit one of the SIRIM building which located in Shah Alam. I was actually accompanying my mom there and it was a great way for me to broaden my knowledge on the matter.

We were going to the Packaging Department to asked about the relevant information on setting up new product. My mother needs to gather as much information possible on how the packing could be since they will be setting up a new small industrial business for the local community in my area. (Sound big I must say)

They (the organization) was thinking of creating some products and requesting assistance on the packaging in order to be able to sell it onto the local market. Here is where SIRIM steps in to help. They (the SIRIM) will provide as much help on the packaging as well as quality control of the products.

The budget needed is quite a lot. So my mother will now need to discuss more with her fellow members on how to proceed with the matter. I on the other hand just lucky to gain new experiance and knowledge.

My god. You really need a lot of money to set up a business. Just the packaging itself could cost you ten of thousands of ringgit per product. Imagine the money needed for the rest of the things on a finished product.
